Wedding Trends, Tips and Ideas

2022 is going to be one of the biggest years for weddings! With the restrictions in place the past couple of years the wedding industry has certainly seen Brides and Grooms changing their thoughts on what they wanted their dream day to be like.

This years weddings are certainly reflecting that smaller outdoor weddings are actually the way forward and concentrating on more important aspects of their day.

Hopefully the law that was temporarily changed last year so that venues with outside space can have ceremonies outside will be made permanent soon giving venues and wedding stylists even more flexibility for couples

Tip: If you are thinking of an outside wedding make sure you have planned for all weather. You will need cover come rain or shine as people will need shelter for sun or rain. We all know that British weather is unpredictable!

Colour Trends 2022

If you’re stuck on colours for your wedding this year here’s the low down of the latest colours and themes.

First up BRIDGERTON BLUE.

With season 2 coming out this year Bridgerton has taken us back to the 17th century with a twist.

The colour scheme is definitely on the pale blue side but more slate and baby blue. This would look gorgeous in spring time and definitely would fit with in with venues indoors and outdoors.

Vibrant summer weddings are the next trend on my list for 2022.

Bright and vibrant set ups were fairly popular with parties last year and it’s definitely hitting the wedding scene this year as well. I think this is where the outside weddings would flourish as a lot of indoor wedding venues couldn’t pull off this trend!

Finally Boho vibes.

This trend is not going away and is still a very popular look for weddings and every other kind of event. This chic look is great for a more toned down vibe with its very neutral colours and great if you're not a huge fan of all things flowery but you can also add a little pastel of blush colour to it which is why this trend is sticking around!

Some colour trends last longer than others like a classic white pearl look is great no matter the season or venue or an Autumnal colours like burnt oranges and browns are great for a more rustic feel.

Budgeting tips

No matter what type of wedding you'd like Weddings are expensive and Budgeting is key. So here's a couple of tips to help you along:

When you're working out a budget for your wedding, take at least a grand of that off and keep it for last minute things you will have forgotten about or haven’t quite budgeted enough for. I’m talking, thank you gifts, favours, bride and groom presents to give to each other on the day etc. There will always be something and when there’s a lot of little things they add up!

Second Tip would be after you’ve taken the money away for the venue and catering work out what is your next most important thing and stick to that budget. All the other things you need to pay for aren’t going to all magically fit into your budget so some compromises will need to be made! Somethings can’t be compromised on so make sure they are on the top of your list!

Finally, if you are going for a smaller gathering and your budget is feeling stretched have a rethink about your venue. You can always do the ceremony in one place and the reception in your or a family members garden.
